Health Guarantee:

I offer a two-year replacement guarantee against heredity life-threatening genetic defects that results in death of puppy. To the best of the seller's knowledge, this shih-tzu puppy is in good health, and free from symptoms of infectious disease at the time of sale. This policy does not cover death due to neglect, nor abuse. Taking your Shih-tzu to dog park is considered abuse and reckless dangerous behavior and makes this health guarantee null and void. If puppy is used for breeding in anyway, guarantee is void.

Buyer agrees to provide for this dog’s emotional and physical care, including annual physical examinations and recommended vaccinations by a licensed veterinarian, and nutritious food. Buyer understands that this breed of dog needs special considerations regarding its environment and agrees to house in doors. When outdoors, shih-tzus require fixed shade, and a safe, clean water supply with complete secure fencing. Coyotes, Large birds of prey, bobcats, snakes, large dogs and small children are all a danger to your shih-tzu.

It is understood that a purchased shih-tzu puppy should go to the veterinarian within 2 days of the sale date. If any treatment is rendered necessary, it is performed at the buyer's expense. Should the buyers vet decide to repeat any shots that has already been given, or should decide to worm a puppy that has already been found clear of parasites, without first repeating fecal testing and finding worms, our health guarantee will be null and void. Over-vaccinating can present lifetime health problems in dogs. Worming is poison, It can cause stomach upset, diarrhea and a serious poisonous reaction.

If buyers veterinarian finds the puppy unacceptable as a pet, a letter from the examining veterinarian, stating the date of exam and complete diagnosis including why he/she is unacceptable as a pet, will be required. Seller reserves the right to have the puppy examined by a veterinarian of seller's choice. As I don't always have puppies, the buyer would wait till the next available puppy of same sex and equal value.

No guarantees are made on the size, weight, and color of puppy at maturity. All claims made by seller are educated guesses. I have had 3 generations of the same bloodline but every now and then they will surprise us all. Pinched nostrils and hernias are common in the Shih-tzu breed and are not considered life threating. Pinched nostrils are usually outgrown, and Hernias can be fixed when spayed or neutered.

REGISTRATION: Seller certifies that this puppy was bred in accordance with The American Kennel Club AKC registration requirement for purebred dogs.

This puppy is being sold with limited registration unless stated and agreed upon in writing. Please refer to the AKC website for full definition of these terms. Both types of registration will permit this dog to participate fully in AKC approved competition; the ‘limited’ registration denies registration privileges to any offspring of this dog and is the seller's confirmation that this dog is intended as a family companion, not for breeding.

Seller recommends neutering (males) and spaying (females) at age of six months, unless dog is to be shown in competition, or health considerations require otherwise. Altered dogs live a healthier life and generally have fewer behavioral problems. Dogs sold with “limited registration” are not to be bred at all. AKC paperwork can be withheld till neuter or spay paperwork is provided. Purchaser agrees that a commitment, for the life of the dog, is being made by the purchaser prior to purchase. If at any future date purchaser is unable or does not want to keep dog, purchaser will return the dog to seller at no cost to seller.
